At InPower Counselling, one-on-one counselling is a warm, supportive space where you can show up exactly as you are. It’s your time to talk, reflect, feel, and make sense of what’s been weighing on you, without judgment or pressure.
Our individual sessions are guided by a person-centred approach, which means you are always at the heart of the work. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you with empathy, curiosity, and genuine care. Together, we focus on what feels most important for you and move at a pace that feels safe and right.
I draw on a blend of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to help you understand and shift unhelpful thought patterns, emotional responses, and behaviours. This approach supports you in recognising how your thoughts, language, and beliefs influence your experiences — and empowers you to create more helpful, aligned ways of thinking and responding. These tools are practical, flexible, and designed to support real-life change beyond the counselling room.

All sessions are trauma-informed, meaning your emotional and psychological safety is always prioritised. We work gently and collaboratively, recognising how past experiences may still impact you today, while supporting you to build emotional regulation, self-trust, and resilience.

Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, self-doubt, relationship challenges, or simply feel stuck or disconnected, counselling offers a space to reconnect with your inner strength. At InPower Counselling, the goal isn’t to ‘fix’ you, it’s to support you in strengthening your self-awareness, confidence, and ability to navigate life with greater clarity and ease.

Initial Consultation
What to Expect in Your First Session
Your first session is all about getting to know you and helping you feel comfortable through exploration of your history, working out together individual goals and making practical plans that will support your counselling journey. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready to, we go at your pace (there is a lot more that can be explored in this therapeutic relationship than just talking).

We’ll talk about what’s brought you to counselling, what you’re hoping to gain, and any concerns or questions you might have regarding the therapeutic relationship. I’ll explain how counselling works, and together we’ll begin to identify what support might be most helpful for you moving forward.
Most importantly, your first session is a chance to see if counselling and working together feels right for you. It’s a relaxed, supportive conversation in a space where you are heard, respected, and valued. I’m looking forward to this opportunity to work with you soon.

Walk & Talk Therapy
Walk and Talk Counselling at InPower Counselling offers a gentle, supportive way to access counselling while connecting with the grounding benefits of nature. Walking side by side can feel less intense than sitting face-to-face, making it easier to talk openly and feel more at ease.

This option is ideal if you find traditional counselling settings overwhelming, or if movement and fresh air help you feel calmer and more present. Sessions are relaxed and unhurried, guided by your pace and what feels comfortable for you on the day.

Just like indoor sessions, Walk and Talk counselling is person-centred, CBT- and NLP-informed, and trauma-aware. We focus on understanding your thoughts, emotions, and patterns, while gently building practical tools, self-awareness, and confidence all in a way that feels safe, unique and supportive to you.

Your comfort, privacy, and sense of control are always prioritised along the whole process. There’s no pressure to talk continuously, walk a certain distance, or share more than you’re ready to. We can pause, slow down, or adapt the session at any time to suit your needs. Sometimes the sessions end up on a private park bench or sitting under a beautiful tree.

Walk and Talk counselling isn’t about exercise only, it’s about creating space to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with your inner strength in a natural, grounding environment.

Couples Counselling
Relationship Counselling at InPower Counselling offers a safe, supportive space to explore challenges within your relationship and strengthen the way you connect, communicate, and understand one another.

Whether you’re experiencing communication difficulties, ongoing conflict, emotional distance, trust issues, or feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns, relationship counselling provides space for both voices to be heard with respect and care.

Sessions focus on safety, choice, and emotional understanding. We work gently with thoughts, emotions, reactions, attachment origins and underlying beliefs that influence how you relate to one another. This may include exploring emotions such as anger, hurt, sadness, resentment, or fear, as well as patterns and beliefs that can keep couples feeling disconnected.

The focus is not on blame or taking sides, it’s about increasing awareness, building healthier communication, and creating new ways of relating that feel more supportive and aligned for both partners.

Relationship counselling may be helpful if you:
-
Struggle with communication or recurring conflict
-
Feel emotionally disconnected or misunderstood
-
Are navigating trust or boundary concerns
-
Want to strengthen your relationship or reconnect

What to Expect in Relationship Counselling

Sessions provide a calm, structured space where both partners have time to speak and be heard. We work at a pace that feels safe for everyone involved, with clear boundaries and guidance throughout.
The goal is to help you better understand yourselves and each other, break out of old relationship patterns, and develop more supportive ways of connecting both in and out of sessions.

Relationship counselling at InPower Counselling is about creating space for honesty, understanding, and positive change, so your relationship can move forward with greater clarity and confidence. Often my couples that come to see me say that I am easy to talk to and they end up saying honest things in sessions that they wouldn’t normally dare to talk about with each other at home. This shows that the counselling space is doing what it’s meant to do — creating safety to gently explore breakdowns in communication and supporting the development of healthier rupture and repair within relationships.

Telehealth Counselling
Telehealth Counselling offers the same supportive, one-on-one counselling experience — from the comfort and privacy of your own space. Sessions are held online, making counselling more accessible, flexible, and easy to fit into your life.

This option is ideal if you prefer to stay at home, have a busy schedule, live remotely, or feel more at ease talking from a familiar environment.
Telehealth counselling allows us to explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns in a calm, supportive way, while building practical tools to help you manage anxiety, stress, low mood, self-doubt, and life challenges without needing to travel.

Support is still personal, connected, and tailored to you, just delivered online, its nice to even wear slippers in session, (I know I love that part).

What to Expect (Telehealth)
Sessions are held via a secure online platform, (nothing is ever recorded). All you need is a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone.
We work at your pace, with time to check in, pause if needed, and ensure you feel comfortable throughout the session. Telehealth counselling is flexible, supportive, and just as effective as in-person sessions for many people.

6-Week NLP Breakthrough Package
The 6-Week NLP Breakthrough Package is designed to support meaningful, lasting change by working gently but intentionally with the emotional and mental patterns that may be holding you back.

This package includes six weekly one-on-one sessions, creating consistent space to explore emotions, beliefs, and experiences that influence how you think, feel, and respond in your everyday life. The focus is on building awareness, emotional release, and new, more supportive ways of being.

Our work together is person-centred and trauma-aware and draws on a combination of approaches including Emotional Change Techniques (ECT), alongside NLP-informed tools. This means we don’t only focus on managing symptoms we also work at a deeper level with the emotions and beliefs that sit underneath patterns.
During the six weeks, we may explore emotions that commonly hold people back, such as anger, sadness, hurt, guilt and fear, in a safe and supportive way. We also work with limiting beliefs, including beliefs like “I’m not good enough,” “I’m not worthy,” “I’m too much,” or other unconscious beliefs that can shape how you see yourself and the world. Did you know, the way you do one thing is usually the way you do everything!

This program is designed to help you break out of old, limiting patterns and begin creating new, healthier emotional and thinking patterns that feel more aligned, empowering, and supportive of who you are becoming.

How the 6-Week Package Works
-
You’ll attend one session per week for six weeks
-
Message support in between sessions
-
Sessions may be offered in-person and via telehealth
-
We begin by identifying what you’d like to work on and what feels most important for you
-
Each session builds on the last, while remaining flexible and guided by your needs

You don’t need to have clear goals or the ‘right words’ before starting. The 6-week package offers structure, consistency, and compassionate support as you work toward greater emotional freedom, self-understanding, and confidence.

This is a commitment to yourself to breaking old cycles and stepping into change, one supported step at a time with someone who ins in your corner backing you all the way.

Relaxation Hypnosis
Relaxation Hypnosis is a gentle, calming process designed to help you deeply relax your body and mind, allowing your nervous system to slow down and reset. It’s a supportive space to step out of stress, overthinking, and tension, and into a state of calm, clarity, and ease.
During relaxation hypnosis, you always remain fully aware and in control. This is not about being ‘put under’ or made to do anything, it’s about guiding you into a deeply relaxed state where your mind becomes more receptive to rest, insight, and positive change.

At InPower Counselling, relaxation hypnosis is trauma-aware and person-centred, with your comfort, safety, and choice always prioritised. Sessions are guided at your pace and tailored to your needs on the day and ongoing.

Relaxation hypnosis may be helpful if you:
-
Feel stressed, overwhelmed, or mentally exhausted
-
Experience anxiety, tension, or difficulty switching off
-
Struggle with sleep or restlessness
-
Want to feel calmer, more grounded, and more present

This approach supports the release of emotional and physical tension while helping you reconnect with a sense of inner calm and balance. Many people leave sessions feeling lighter, clearer, and more relaxed both mentally and physically.

What to Expect in a Relaxation Hypnosis Session
We begin with a gentle conversation about how you’ve been feeling and what you’d like from the session. You’ll then be guided into a relaxed state using calming language, breath awareness, and imagery.
You can stop, pause, or adjust the session at any time. Relaxation hypnosis is always collaborative, respectful, and centred around what feels safe and supportive for you. I invite you in to experience the benefits of relaxation hypnosis
